| This is a spec that I have worked very hard on creating. I've been playing as Arcane spec since level 30 a number of years ago and I'm truly excited with the new talents and potential for the build.
The build relies on a shot rotation using Improved Scorch and its Glyph to quickly debuff the target increasing its chance to be crit with spells by 10%, then maximise use of Arcane Barrage, filling in the cooldown gaps with Arcane Missiles.
Here is my idea for the ideal shot rotation:-
I made a quick spreadsheet on this spec and shot rotation to work out what stats to seek for best DPS (note that this is DPS only, not mana use, so steady effort should also be put into Intellect and Spirit until you can cast non-stop between Evocations). If the player puts all their effort into Spell Power up to 1200, then concentrates on both Hit Rating and Spell Power equally until the Hit Cap of 367 is achieved, then goes back to all Spell Power they will cause crazy damage with the minimum effort.
Crit is not important to this build until the dizzy heights of about 4400 Spell Power (if that is even possible to achieve) after which Crit starts becoming more and more effective.
Haste is useful because it will reduce the duration of Arcane Missiles and allow more casts of Arcane Barrage (the highest DPS attack in the mage's spellbook) in the same time. Arcane Barrage also has a chance to half the cast time of the next Arcane Missiles, temporarily turning Arcane Missiles into the highest DPS attack.
The spec is supported strongly by the following major Glyphs: Glyph of Arcane Missiles, Glyph of Improved Scorch, Glyph of Mage Armor
Another strength to the spec is that if the mage has a reasonable Spirit and Intellect they negate the requirement for any additional MP5, since 110% SPI (115% if you are Human), 115% INT (120% if you are Gnome) and Mage Armor (with the glyph) will give a massive 80% of full mana regeneration whilst casting. | |

| awesome, you give me your arcane fire spec when my mage was about level 59ish, and i must say i will deffo be trying this when i get to 80  | |

| you've just got to get ur mage to 80 tim, then see how much dps this build dishes out in raids | |
